Getting Started

Once the app is installed on your Shopify store its already up and running. No need to configure or install anything, its simply a once click install process.

You can configure the app for a more detailed repsonse in terms of preloading, we call this Intensity. You can find this on the settings page, and docs below for it.

How Does It Work

Rapido - Page Speed Booster preloads the page just before the user clicks on it. When a user hovers over a link, it will start loading the HTML part of that webpage in the background and it can save 100 milliseconds of latency.

The "just-in-time preloading" feature of the page improves the user experience on the website by loading the webpage at lightning-fast speed.

On the desktop, when a visitor hovers the mouse on the link just before the click, it will start the preloading and save around 300 ms in the loading process.

You can also load the page after the user clicks on a link and it will not utilize additional requests, still, it can improve page loading speed by 80ms on average.

It also works in the same fundamentals in Mobile devices. It will start loading the page in the time gap of when someone touches his display before releasing it. Here it can improve page speed by 90ms on average.

Settings

First head over to the settings page to view the available settings.

You will find a section called 'Intensity' which allows you to configure how the app interacts with the users browser.

There are 5 options to choose from. Each are listed below with some details.

Hover - Default

By default, Rapido preloads 65 ms after hovering a link on desktop and when a mobile user starts touching their display.

Hover With Delay

For some sites with a lot of huge click targets, such as some e-commerce sites, the 65 ms rule doesn’t apply: it will preload more than two times for each page visited. To increase the delay on hover, add the number of milliseconds to the below input. For example, 150.

Preload

On small mobile devices (such as smartphones) if you want your pages to be instant in more situations you can preload links as soon as they’re visible.

Note that if the user is on 2G or has data saver enabled it will fall back to using the default options.

Clicking

Loads the page when the user starts pressing their mouse button, right before releasing it. This leaves on average 80 ms for the page to preload.

To have it this way just on desktop and not preload on mobile, choose the below option "Clicking only on desktop".

Clicking Only On Desktop

Loads the page when the user starts pressing their mouse button, right before releasing it. This leaves on average 80 ms for the page to preload. This option will only work for Desktops and mobile will revert back to the first default touch / hover option.

App Visibility

Head over to the Settings page to view the available settings.

You will find an option for 'Disable App'. This will allow you to turn the app on or off whilst leaving all settings in their current state, yet wont have any affect on your store front.

All settings stay untouched but wont make any affect.

Support

Within the cog icon in the top right hand corner of the app sits an option called Support. Clicking this will take you to the support page where you can fill out the form and wait for our speedy developers and support staff to give you a helping hand.
